Löhne, October 2024
Thoxan E-Commerce GmbH from Hille is taking over the operations of Wittekind Möbel UG (haftungsbeschränkt) with immediate effect. The previous managing directors Thorsten Keller and Christian Wählen are withdrawing from the company for personal reasons. Thomas Kilian, the third WITTEKIND co-founder and managing director of the Thoxan agency group, will continue to run the brand, which is known for Lounge and garden furniture made from used solid wood. He is leading the company into a new phase of development with a strategic realignment.
From October 2024, WITTEKIND will take a break from production for several weeks to prepare for organizational restructuring and the relocation of production.
In future, the furniture will be manufactured by SMV Sitz- & Objektmöbel GmbH from Löhne. The established contract furniture manufacturer has its own factory in Poland, where skilled specialists build handmade furniture to the highest quality standards.
The close partnership enables the WITTEKIND brand to achieve more efficient production and shorter delivery times, even with seasonal workloads: "The employees who specialize in furniture construction are experienced Lounge and contract furniture professionals who ensure high quality and reliability," explains Thoxan E-Commerce Managing Director Thomas Kilian.
At the same time, the documentation of the furniture is being professionalized, including through the introduction of 3D models and digitized construction instructions.
The realignment also involves a change of contact person. In future, Daniel Kilian, who has been responsible for customer support at Thoxan E-Commerce GmbH for ten years, will also provide professional advice to WITTEKIND customers.
He not only brings with him many years of experience in the sale of high-quality designer carpets, but has also known the furniture brand for many years through his regular, active support of the WITTEKIND team at various trade fairs and events.
The decision to take over the operational business while simultaneously realigning it with outsourced production offers the opportunity to strengthen WITTEKIND , expand sales and develop the brand further in the direction of a broader e-commerce model.
Project manager Daniel Kilian emphasizes: "We are convinced that this step will not only secure the future of the WITTEKIND brand, but also open up new opportunities for growth and innovation. Within the Thoxan agency group, we want to further expand the retail division, focusing in particular on environmentally friendly products."
WITTEKIND remains true to manufacturing with sustainable raw materials and the use of high-quality materials. The label will continue to produce its characteristic upcycling furniture for patios, Lounge and gardens from used wood. Durability, solid construction and timeless design are key product characteristics.
With this strategic realignment, the company aims to tap into new markets and expand its brand presence in the e-commerce sector. In addition to private customers, the target group also includes providers from the catering, hotel and commercial sectors as well as contract furniture planners and architects. Existing customers and partner companies will be comprehensively informed about the changes in the coming weeks.
Orders can still be placed during the production break, and production is expected to resume in December 2024.
"Our customers can rely on a smooth continuation of the business relationship and can also look forward to an expanded product range from next year," say the Kilian brothers.
